What is a business day?
A business day is a day treated as a working day under a particular schedule. The default Tervilo calculator excludes Saturday and Sunday, but you can change the weekend days to match another schedule.
Does the calculator exclude weekends?
Yes. Saturday and Sunday are excluded by default. You can uncheck either day if your normal working schedule uses a different weekend pattern.
Can I add public holidays?
Yes. The current version lets you enter custom holiday dates. This avoids assuming that one country or region has the same holiday calendar as another.
What happens when a holiday falls on a weekend?
A holiday that falls on a selected weekend day is already excluded as a weekend and is not subtracted a second time from the business-day total.
Are business days the same in every country?
No. Weekend patterns, public holidays and observed-holiday rules can differ by country, region, employer and industry. Use the custom holiday and weekend settings to match the schedule you need.
