IMAGE TOOL WORKSPACE

Image Compressor

Reduce image file size in your browser while balancing output size, format and visual quality.

For JPG and WebP, higher quality usually means a larger file. PNG encoding does not use the quality slider, so it is disabled when PNG output is selected.

About this tool

Image Compressor

Reduce image file size before websites, documents, email, messaging and other digital uses. Tervilo processes the normal compression workflow in your browser so the selected image does not need to be uploaded to a Tervilo application server.

About Image Compression

Image compression reduces the amount of data needed to store or transmit an image. Tervilo performs ordinary browser-side compression so your selected image can be processed without sending the file to a Tervilo application server. For JPEG and WebP output, quality controls the trade-off between visual detail and file size; PNG output is generally lossless and may not become smaller simply by changing a quality slider.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one or more supported images.
  2. Select an output format and quality when the tool offers those options.
  3. Start compression and compare the original and output sizes.
  4. Download the compressed files you want to keep.

Important notes

Compression results depend on the original image, dimensions, format and selected quality. A PNG containing simple graphics may compress differently from a photographic JPG.

Privacy and browser processing

For these image operations, Tervilo is designed to process the selected image data in your browser. The page does not need to upload the image to a Tervilo application server for the normal conversion workflow. You should still keep your original file until you have checked the downloaded result.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Taskvora upload my image?

The normal V1 image-processing workflow is designed to process the selected image in your browser rather than sending it to a Taskvora application server.

Will every image become smaller?

No. The result depends on the source format, image content, dimensions and output quality. Some PNG images may not shrink substantially.
