About this tool

Keyword Density Checker

Free Keyword Density Checker to review repeated terms and approximate frequency in text. Use it as an editorial diagnostic, not an SEO density target.

About the Keyword Density Checker

Keyword Density Checker counts repeated words and calculates their approximate frequency within a passage. It can help editors understand vocabulary distribution, but keyword frequency should never be treated as a target that must be maximized for SEO.

How to use this tool

Paste the text you want to inspect and run the analysis. Tervilo normalizes words, ignores a practical set of common stop words and displays frequently occurring terms with counts and approximate percentages. You can use the result to spot repetition or missing terminology.

  1. Open the Keyword Density Checker page on Tervilo.
  2. Enter or paste the text you want to work with.
  3. Choose any options relevant to the task.
  4. Run the tool and review the result before copying or publishing it.

How the calculation or transformation works

Approximate density = occurrences of a term ÷ total analyzed words × 100. Punctuation and letter case are normalized for analysis. This is a descriptive statistic, not a Google ranking recommendation.

Common uses

  • Editorial repetition checks
  • Content vocabulary analysis
  • Topic coverage review
  • Copy editing
  • Search-intent content audits

Privacy and browser-side processing

Tervilo's text tools are designed to process the text in your browser. For ordinary text-editing tasks this can reduce the need to send your content to an application server. Even with browser-side tools, review your organization's security requirements before pasting confidential, regulated or sensitive information into any website.
